Mercier massage, is it the right choice for you?

Mercier massage, something not everyone knows about, but we strongly feel they should!

Pelvic health is finally getting the recognition it deserves, and Mercier massage is something that is a beautiful addition to things such as pelvic health physiotherapy, chiropractic and acupuncture.

This non-invasive therapy, specific to the pelvis, aims to decrease adhesions, while increasing blood flow and mobility through the pelvic tissue. Adhesions occur from injury or surgery, acting like a glue between different layers in the body. These adhesions reduce the mobility of the tissue and organs they surround, potentially leading to tension, pain and a slew of other ailments. Mercier massage is a holistic approach to support people dealing with complaints of the pelvis and reproductive organs. This technique is great for those currently:

  • On their fertility journey,
  • Healing from pelvic surgery (such as cesarian delivery or hysterectomy),
  • Living with endometriosis,
  • Living with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS),
  • Dealing with painful periods and
  • Experiencing anovulation, and amenorrhea.

Each of the aforementioned health concerns carries its own burden, but Mercier massage can help. With things such as endometriosis, PCOS and painful periods this therapy can help by releasing tension and increasing blood flow to the areas of involvement, thus decreasing pain. Whereas, things along the lines of infertility, anovulation and amenorrhea can benefit from the increased blood flow to the reproductive organs. Lastly, scarring benefits from the adhesion breakdown and improved mobility of the tissues of the pelvis.

We are thrilled to have Patti MacGregor at Crescent Health Collective offering Mercier Massage for our community.
